In a bid to defeat the recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy S4, Apple is working on the remarkable features for the upcoming iPhone 5S or even with the iPhone 6. Apple's latest smart phone will reportedly have the capability to make 3D video calls and 3D video conferencing.

Additionally, the 3D video call technology can allow the iPhone users to view details of several objects on the screen display with the Augmented Reality (AR) technology.

"The technology elaborated as Synchronized Interactive Augmented Reality (AR) Displays for iDevices is basically a linking technology to rope together a number of devices for live videos calls and information sharing," the News Tribe report indicates.

The technology giant received the patent for the Augmented Reality (AR) technology last March 19. Inventors of the AR technology are Brett Bilbrey, Nicholas King and Aleksandar Pance who filed the original patent in the first quarter of 2010.

"According to Apple, the granted patent is about a device that can receive live video of a real-world, physical environment on a touch sensitive surface," PatentlyApple reports.

According to analyst Katy Huberty of Morgan Stanley, the smart phone enthusiasts should watch out for the launch of the upcoming iPhone 5S or iPhone 6. "You saw Samsung Galaxy S4 come out last week that shows you the innovation cards are up for grabs. What is lacking in that product is a killer feature. We think that's where Apple will surprise this year," Huberty told CBS News on Monday.

Other features of the 3D video call technology include:

1. Object Identifying.

2. Distance Learning.

3. Medical Application.

4. Vehicle Application.

5. Video Information Sharing.

Sharing of video information or images can be performed with the "Share Button." iPhone users can incorporate into the feed both of the live video and "information layer" and be shared through communication linking with the other devices. If both parties do not agree to share, the button function will not expose where the device is located for security reasons.

For the release of the iPhone 5S with a "killer feature," it is reported to happen in Q3 of 2013.
