iPhone 6S pre-orders to exceed iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, says Apple
Apple might well be on its way to beating its previous iPhone sales record. The Cupertino-based tech giant has already started accepting pre-orders for the new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus.
The devices will finally reach the market on September 25, depending on the carrier. Considering that Apple is confident pre-orders of its latest iPhone models are "on pace" to beat those of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, the company may have already sold more than 10 million units during its opening weekend, as pointed out by Tech Times.
"Customer response to iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus has been extremely positive," said Apple spokesperson Trudy Muller. "Pre-orders this weekend were very strong around the world!"
The iPhone 6S units are selling like hotcakes and are reported to have been sold out in only 12 hours, according to Fortune. Apple has further broadened its target market by including China in its list of countries where its iPhone devices will be launched. This is very good news for the company since Apple has never launched in China before.
The rose gold variant of the iPhone 6S Plus will be the first one available. Its release date, however, has reportedly been pushed back two to three more weeks because it has become so popular in Japan, the United Kingdom and Canada. Apple users in the US will have to wait three to four weeks before they can get their hands on the iPhone 6S Plus.
The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus were first unveiled to the public on September 9 at Apple's special event in the Bill Graham Civic Center, San Francisco. Both devices feature 3D Touch technology, a camera that has a "Live Photos" feature and faster graphics because of the devices' A9 chip.
