'Jane The Virgin' Star Gina Rodriguez Admits Using Show's Fake Baby Bump To Cut Chipotle Line
“Jane the Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez said she used the show’s prosthetic baby bump cut a Chipotle line. She felt guilty immediately afterwards that she had to admit to people that she was lying and explained her actions.
In an interview with “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (via Page Six), Rodriguez confessed that she once used a fake baby bump to get ahead of a Chipotle line by using her successful “Jane the Virgin” show’s props. She shared that every Chipotle line seems to be so long. However, having a “baby bump” makes it easy to get ahead of a long Chipotle line, she says. She was successful in getting ahead of the line but it just made her feel guilty instead of accomplished so she said she confessed on the spot. “There I was lying to strangers and I didn’t feel right about it,” she said. She told those in the line that she was not pregnant and was just wearing prosthetics for a show, which adding to her embarrassment, had not aired at the time yet.
On the same interview (via Just Jared), she also shared how much her father influenced her concept of beauty and gave her the best beauty advice. She said her father put into her mind that there are different versions of being beautiful and that beauty comes from within. The budding actress shared that when she heard of this cliché, she scoffed like every other teenager. Eventually, she said she realized what her father said is true. From her personal experience, some people who are considered aesthetically beautiful but have hearts that are “not smiling” do not look beautiful in the long run. On the other hand, the most gorgeous people she met were the ones who are not considered as beautiful but have beautiful hearts.
Gina’s own version of beauty not only landed her the meaty role in the successful “Jane the Virgin” show and a Golden Globe, but also a big fashion campaign for “Kipling.” People magazine reports that she is hailed as the face of the company’s Summer 2015 campaign. She will also be involved with Kipling’s “Make Happy” campaign, which for her, makes the project all the more fulfilling.
