Detroit rapper Marshall Mathers III, professionally known as Eminem, originally held the record for the most MTV European Music Awards won by one artist with 15 wins. This record was recently broken by Justin Bieber who recently racked up his 18th award.

On Oct. 25, Sunday, Bieber won five awards at the MTV EMAs 2015 in Milan, Italy. These awards were Best Male Act, Best North American Act, Best Look, Biggest Fans and Best Collaboration for “Where Are You Now?” with Skrillex and Diplo.

In 1999, Eminem won his first MTV EMA as Best Hip Hop Act. He won the same award again from 2000 to 2003, with his group D12 in 2004, and solely as Eminem in 2010, in 2011 and in 2013.

Eminem won Best Album at the MTV EMA twice. “Marshall Mathers LP” won the award in 2000 and in 2002. The same award was given to “The Eminem Show,” which was also awarded as Best Rap/Hip-Hop Album.

In 2002 and in 2009, the "Rap God" rapper won Best Male Act at the last MTV EMA. His most recent award was th Global Icon Award, which he received in 2014.

With Bieber as the artist with the most MTV EMAs, followed by Eminem with 15 wins, One Direction is in the third spot with 12 wins and Linkin Park in the fourth spot with 10 wins. On the fifth spot with eight MTV EMAs are Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Dima Bilan and Thirty Seconds to Mars.

In other news, shortly before Bieber broke the "Rap God" rapper's MTV EMA record, it was announced that the house the “What Do You Mean?” singer rented in Atlanta, Georgia, while he recorded music was on the rental market. The futuristic mansion is owned by Bieber’s friend Dallas Austin, who has worked with several artists including Pink, Boyz II Men and the late Michael Jackson, according to Mirror.
