Kate Hudson's Brother Oliver Still Speaking With Their Biological Father, Bill Hudson, Kurt Russell Says
Kurt Russell clarified that despite the heated words Bill Hudson said of his children Oliver and Kate Hudson, the hurt father still maintained some contact with with son. Russell, who is viewed as a father figure by both Kate and Oliver, claimed that there is still “some nice back and forth” between Bill and Oliver.
Kate and Oliver Hudson both hurt their biological father, Bill through their Father’s Day posts. On that supposedly-special day, Oliver took to his Instagram and post a childhood picture of him and his little sister and added a seemingly scathing caption that read “Happy Abandonment Day.” Kate followed suit by wishing Kurt Russell a happy father’s day, instead of honoring her biological father
Apparently hurt, Bill later said that both Oliver and Kate are no longer part of his life and that they can live their lives as they please without him because he is setting them “free.” He also allegedly said that Oliver and Kate should cease using the “Hudson” surname because he no longer recognise the two as his children. Kurt said everything is not as bad as it seems between the father and son. "I understood Oliver's sense of humor and since then, there's been some nice back and forth between Bill and Oliver and that's nice to see," Russell shared to E News exclusively as he promotes the The Hateful Eight at San Diego's Comic-Con.
For his part, he said he is still enjoying his family even if he is very busy with work. He is currently shooting for his upcoming movie “Deepwater Horizon” but he still constantly hears from his family through texts.
Russell did not say anything about Kate and Bill talking after the Father’s Day fiasco, Kate had recently made it clear that she treats Russell as her father. “He raised us from the age of three,” Kate stated to adventurer Bear Grylls as they shoot for an episode of his show Running Wild. For Kate, what Russell did is commendable, and a “real taking on for a man.” As such, she considers him as her dad.
