A source claimed the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are still likely to hire another nanny for their second baby amidst reports the royal couple have decided against it. Kate Middleton and Prince William reportedly especially need to hire a reserve nanny to watch over their second child whenever their first nanny is out with Prince George.

Kate Middleton and Prince William currently have one full-time nanny to take care of Prince George. The royal couple had hired Maria Borrallo last year. However, a source who has worked with Prince William and Prince Harry when they were small, told People that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge may initially only have one nanny but “ultimately, in six months to a year” they may need to hire another one.

“When George is being taken out, someone's got to stay in and look after the other one. They'll have to have a reserve nanny to do the babysitting when the other's out,” the source said.

The source’s statements came following reports of Prince William and Kate Middleton dismissing their search for a second nanny to work at their home in Anmer Hall. The royal couple supposedly doesn’t see the need to add another nanny as they only have two children under the age of two years old at home. Having only full-time nanny Maria Borrallo is enough. The Duke and Duchess are said to be “happy with the arrangement," a royal source told the publication.

Whether the royal couple will hire a second nanny remain uncertain. Kate Middleton did try to go without a maternity nurse when Prince George was born. However, she finally decided to reach out to friends to call for help and that’s when Maria Borrallo was hired as his nanny.

Kate Middleton has reportedly decided to take a longer maternity leave so she can spend more time with Prince George and her newborn. Another source told People that she wants to “enjoy the bonding experience” with her children before she resumes with her royal duties. The Duchess of Cambridge may be out of the royal spotlight for many months. According to Pop Sugar, Kate Middleton may be extending her maternity leave longer than two months, unlike her immediate return to public engagements less than two months after giving birth to Prince George.
