Not long ago, in February, Microsoft apparently cut the price of the 2-in-1 Surface Pro 3 by offering a discount of $100 on many of the variants of the tablet. However, the discount was a limited period offer. Later, the tech giant offered discounts on the base model and also initiated a trade-in program for the older Surface model, in time of the fast approaching Surface Pro 4 release date. Nonetheless, the company’s discount deal has not stopped yet, as the discount on the Surface Pro 3 is apparently back and it is much better this time around.

At the moment, Microsoft is not offering discount on the base model and therefore, the Surface Pro 3 price on the 64 GB model remains the same at $799 in Microsoft Store. But then, other versions like 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB models are reportedly under the discount ambit. To be specific, the company has cut down the Surface Pro 3 price by $100 specific to the 128 GB version and hence, the current price is $899.

On the other hand, the 256 GB and 512 GB Surface Pro 3 models are apparently getting a discount of $150 on the original price. In the meantime, the Intel Core i5 model with 256 GB storage will set the buyers back by $1,149, whereas the Intel Core i7 powered Surface Pro 3 price is set at $1,399 and the tablet with Intel Core i7 SoC with 512 GB of storage will set the buyers back by $1,799. Also it is worth noting that, all the discounted variants of the Surface Pro 3, including the base model will apparently receive a free sleeve upon purchasing the device, notes ZDNet.

However, readers should note that, the free sleeve deal reportedly ends on April 5. Plus, at this point, there is no word on the end date of the Surface Pro 3 discount deal. However, ZDNet says, this sale will end prior to the Surface Pro 4 release. So far, the leaked Surface Pro 4 specifications strongly suggest the inclusion of Intel's latest Broadwell processors and the upcoming Windows 10 OS on board. Nonetheless, Microsoft has not confirmed the Surface Pro 4 specifications or release date, thus far.

In case, readers are not looking to purchase the forthcoming Surface Pro 4, this is the right time to utilise the discount offer and buy a Surface Pro 3 instead. Potential buyers can purchase the Surface Pro 3 from Microsoft Store.
