Keeping watch for the MInecraft Xbox 360 TU 12 revealed that the developers have been hard at work for the update, and despite the incremental updates, it's still not nearing a release date.

Developer 4J Studios keeps its Twitter followers updated, with a recent post assuring them that the necessary work to be done for the TU 12 is currently in the works.

"We're still working on TU 12--there are lots of software architecture changes needed for this update. Thanks for your continued patience :)"

Upon the need for further clarification via a follower, 4J Studios reveals that there will be a lot of "changes in the way the code works underneath the game."

Does this mean that the TU 12 update won't just come with texture packs and other add-ons, but also features that can be pretty novel in Minecraft Xbox 360?

The game as currently sold over seven million copies since it was launched last year, and has also been rising in the charts in terms of sales, placing second after The Last of Us in the UK charts early this month.

Minecraft 1.6.2 update released

A lot is going on for Minecraft aside from the Minecraft Xbox 360 Title Update 12, as a pre-release log was revealed last July 5 bearing the full list of updates.

July 8 marks the release of the Minecraft 1.6.2 update, so be sure to check out when the patch will be released.

According to Mojang's blog, there are five aspects that are worth noting for this most recent update, including fixing horses that suffocate when touching walls, fixing animals escaping pens, improving sprint behavior, improving look of custom fonts, and, on Mac, having Ctrl+left-click to count as a right-click.

Here is a handful more of bugs that will be fixed as part of the latest 1.6.2 update:

- Delayed sprint

- Distorted fonts when using a converted texturepack on setup

- The "clear" command which causes players in creative mode to be unable to move items in inventory

- Health boost reset additional health every 30 seconds

- Minecraft 1.6.1 demo has crashed

- Cannot pick block lead in creative

- "Nether-Fortress'Only" Mobs no longer spawning in previously generated Fortresses

- Reloading a world while player is in moving Minecart or riding a horse is glitch in F5 mode

- Trapped chest looks like Regular Chest in inventory/item frame

- Packet flood degrades server performance

- Chat concurrency issues

- Powered pistons drop as items in creative

Look out for more bug fixes when the update becomes available.

Mod support for Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition?

Following queries of a possible mod support for the game, The Examiner reports that 4J Studios has answered that it would be a difficult task to support fan-made custom mods in the Xbox 360.

As a consolation for this, the developer has hinted that there will be Xbox-specific content that will be released sometime in the future.

Whether or not this is included in the Title Update 12, which is currently in development today, has not yet been specified, but there are a lot of updates that are being launched for Minecraft.
