'Mission Impossible 5' Plot Details: Tom Cruise's Film Will Have 'Old School' Feel, Benji Dunn Will Get His 'Hands Dirty'
The new instalment in the “Mission Impossible” franchise is all set to hit the screens in the mid of this year. Director of “Mission Impossible 5” Christopher McQuarrie recently revealed some interesting details about the film’s plot and trailer in a Q&A session with his fans on his Twitter account
According to the Q& A session, “Mission Impossible 5” will have an “old-school” tone and it will pay tribute to “Mission Impossible” 1966 TV series. The director was also asked about the subtitles release date and whether they will give some hint about the film’s plot. To this Christopher said “very, very, soon.” Moreover, there has been buzz that the film’s ending had to be reshot.
It was revealed last month that the film’s production had to be stopped to figure out the film’s end. “Chris, Tom and a third person wanted to take a minute to get from what they thought was a good place to a more perfect place," said a Paramount insider according to The Hollywood Reporter. However, Christopher denied the rumours and said that they are prepping for the ending and the team is shooting it now.
Sean Harris will play the film’s main villain. The actor is known for his role of a geologist in Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus.” Paul Petton and Maggie Q will not reprise their roles. Paula played Jane in “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” meanwhile Maggie Q played Zhen in “Mission Impossible III.” Christopher said that both the actresses were “unavailable.” Simon Pegg will reportedly reprise his role of Benji Dunn and will “get his hands dirty” Meanwhile, Jeremy Renner and Ving Rhames will reportedly have a more screen time in “Mission Impossible 5” as compared to what they have in its predecessor.
“Mission Impossible 5” is scheduled to be released on July 31, 2015. The principal photography of the film has been done in Vienna, Austria. Some parts of the film has also been shot in London. The film has been written by Drew Pearce and Will Staples and will see Tom Cruise reprise his role of Ethan Hunt. Cruise, J. J. Abrams and David Ellison have produced the film.
