New LG G4C: A Mini Variant Of G4 In The Works, Plus LG G4 Release Date Set For May 25 In The US For A Price Of $650

The 2015 flagship LG G4 has recently been launched and the shipment start-date is expected to be in May. In the meantime, a new report states that, the company is working to release a smaller sibling or a compact version of the G4 dubbed “LG G4C.”

The LG G4C apparently come with the model number LG-H525N and was found on a Dutch retailer's Website. Interestingly, the LG G4C launch date is reportedly pegged for May 12. In any case, this compact version’s specifications and features have not been revealed thus far. But then, the LG G4C price is quoted to be 295 euro, which roughly translates to notes GSM Arena. Nonetheless, readers should note that, the tech giant has not confirmed the existence of the LG G4C.

The highlight of the handset is the “genuine leather rear” that elevates the look to a whole new level. In addition, LG has apparently used “vegetable tanning” on the G4. To top it off, only a 10 percent of the entire leather goods are apparently processed in this way and hence, it adds up the exclusivity factor to the 2015 flagship.

Under the hood, the handset is powered by a Snapdragon 808 SoC and not the widely-used Snapdragon 810 chip. But then, GSM Arena says, the company apparently worked with Qualcomm to customise the chipset and therefore, the performance level of Snapdragon 808 will be better than the Exynos 7420, specific to everyday tasks. On the software end, the device runs on the Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with LG’s UX 4.0 overlay and apparently, this new UI has removed the inessential bloatwares.

When it comes to camera specification, the handset sports a 16 MP rear-facing unit along with a bright f1.8 lens. Moreover, this sensor has the capability to provide 11 percent more accumulated light when compared to Galaxy S6’s f1.9 lens, notes GSM Arena. Plus, the G4 supports optical image stabilisation.

Speaking of the LG G4 price, IGN says, the handset can be purchased in the U.S. via T-Mobile at a starting price of Plus, the LG G4 release date specific to the U.S. is May 25.
