New Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 Phablet With 6-Inch Display, 13 MP Camera And 2 GB RAM in the Offing
Samsung released Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Mega 6.3 in 2013. As the names indicate, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and the Galaxy Mega 6.3 come with whopping 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch displays respectively. Nonetheless, we now have a successor to the aforementioned devices in the form of Samsung Galaxy Mega 2.
There were quite a few leaks in the past few months on the features and the specs of the Galaxy Mega 2. But now, a new leak from China's Telecommunications Equipment Certification Center's database gives the first look of the Galaxy Mega 2 phablet. This leak also reveals information on the specifications of the device, according to Phone Arena.
The model number pertaining to Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 is SM-G7508Q. Apparently, this handset supports China's TD-LTE network connectivity. Also, the device will be released by the carrier China Mobile shortly. Furthermore, the international variant of this device is expected to be a replica of the Chinese version.
As far as the specification goes, the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 will reportedly feature a 5.98-inch display bundled with 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. Therefore the display of the upcoming device is a little short of the Galaxy Mega 6.3 and a bit more than the Galaxy Mega 5.8. This humongous device comes with a dimension of 163.6 x 84.9 x 8.6 mm.
The Galaxy Mega 2 will be powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. The phablet will run on Android v4.4 KitKat OS. When it comes to camera, the device will sport a good 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash and a 5 MP front-facing shooter.
The phone will come equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal storage capacity. In addition, the Galaxy Mega 2 supports microSD card for further expansion. It is worth noting that, a model of the Galaxy Mega 2 with number SM-G750A was spotted in FCC site recently. Hence, the Samsung device can be expected to make a landfall in the U.S. sooner or later.
Nevertheless, Samsung has not confirmed the existence of the device thus far. Interested readers should check out the leaked images of the Samsung Galaxy Mega 2 from Phone Arena.
