The South Korean multinational LG has officially announced a new variant of the famed G3 handset. The smartphone is dubbed as the LG G3 A. The first country to receive this handset is South Korea through the country's top network carrier SK Telecom. Also it is worth noting that, another mid-range variant dubbed the LG G3 Beat (also referred as G3 S) was recently unveiled.

The handset in focus the LG G3 A is comparatively bigger and comes packed with impressive features than the G3 S. However, when compared to the 2014 flagship LG G3, the G3 A is smaller and as expected the specifications are not on par with the G3, according to Phone Arena.

Known for its killer features and terrific under the hood performance, the LG G3 holds the record for housing one of world's first Quad HD display i.e. 1440 x 2560 pixels screen resolution. The new LG G3 A, on the other hand, features a good 5.2-inch display complimented by 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution.

The handset is powered by a Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at 2.26 GHz. When it comes to camera, the device houses a solid 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with OIS+, dual-LED flash and laser auto focus, similar to the one in 5.5-inch G3. The front-facing camera unit is a 2.1 MP shooter.

Moreover, the phone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS. Apart from supporting standard connectivity options like Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and MicroUSB, the handset also supports LTE-A and NFC. When it comes to memory/storage, the LG G3 A comes equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage capacity with microSD card support.

The device is backed by a powerful 2,610 mAh battery unit. Furthermore, the LG G3 A handset is capable of letting users to utilize hand/wrist gestures to control several smartphone functions.

Furthermore, the LG G3 A will come in black and white hues. Also, the rear panel will feature a metallic 3D pattern. Nevertheless, there is no information available to ascertain the availability of the LG G3 A outside the home country South Korea at this point.
