Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones admitted that he’s a fan of Minnesota Vikings’ Adrian Peterson and in a conversation was told by the star running back that he also wants to play for the franchise in the National Football League,

"Well, I understand, Adrian," Jones said to Peterson in a story on an ESPN The Magazine article. “I'd like that, too ... Well, I love your story. I love your daddy's story. I've always respected what you've been about. I've always been a fan of yours.”

Jones added in the conversation with Peterson that the franchise will try to explore possibilities on how to acquire Peterson and emphasised that he also wants the running back in Dallas. There is a possibility that the league also penalises the Cowboys owner for violating anti-tampering rules of the NFL but Jones confidently stated that he did not violate any rules since he did not initiate the conversation with Peterson.

With a strained relationship between Peterson and his current team, the Vikings, a move by one of NFL’s top running backs is now a possibility before the start of the upcoming 2015 NFL Season. In 2011, Peterson signed a six year $86.28 million contract with the Vikings and he’s in the fifth year of his deal in Minnesota which will pay him nearly $15M in 2015 if he stays in Minnesota or restructures his contract with the franchise.

Peterson is involved in domestic abuse charges before the start of the 2014 NFL Season and has been suspended by the league. He only played for a single game for the Vikings in the 2014 NFL Season. There are reports that the Vikings are working out a possible Peterson return but the running back said in recent interviews that going back to Minnesota is an “awkward” situation because of what happened in the past few months. Peterson, who made the Pro Bowl squad in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013, admitted that it’s hard to predict if his future is with the Vikings.
