In the latest in the National Football League, or NFL, the strained relationship between the Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson has turned from bad to worse after reports that the star running back’s agent, Ben Dogra had a serious verbal altercation with one of the bosses at the Minnesota camp.

According to CBS Sports’ Jason La Canfora, Dogra was in a heated exchange with Vikings’ vice president of football operations Rob Brzezinski during the NFL Combine last week. Dogra and Brzezinski apparently had to be separated because of the altercation.

“He will never play another game for the Vikings,” one unnamed source in La Canfora’s article said of the Peterson-Vikings situation. “It's over.”

Just about the same time last week, most from the Vikings camp and officials have publicly stated that they want Peterson back in the roster for the upcoming 2015 NFL Season. Peterson is under contract by Minnesota until 2017 but both sides can restructure the contract in this offseason. There are reports that the franchise want the running back to take a pay cut for the 2015 season. Peterson is set to be paid $12.75 million with $15.4 million counting against Minnesota’s salary cap in 2015 if he’s not released by the team.

Mark Wilf, the president and Kevin Warren, the chief operation officer of the franchise both publicly stated last Feb. 13 that they want the star running back with the team. However, Peterson stated in interviews that it would be an “awkward situation” if he plays for the Vikings in the future and said he’s unsure if he wants to return to the team because of what happened the last few months. Peterson was indefinitely suspended by the Vikings mid-September of 2014 and had only played for a single game for the team in the 2014 NFL Season. The suspension was brought about by child abuse charges levied against Peterson.

The 29 years old Peterson, who is considered one of the top running backs in the league, has made the NFL Pro Bowl six times in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013. Peterson led the league in total rushing yards in 2008 when he had 1,760 and in 2012 with 2,097 yards.
