Microsoft has released a brand new commercial to market its Nokia X2 handset. Notably, the company recently announced that it is terminating the Nokia X series of smartphones project. However, the Nokia X2, touted as the last Nokia X smartphone will be released as promised. The Nokia X2 was unveiled in June and the phone has recently been released in selected regions.

The budget-friendly handset made landfall in Russia and Pakistan very recently. It is worth mentioning that, the Nokia X series of phones run on forked version of Android OS in combination with Nokia X UI. Since Microsoft has axed the support of Nokia X line of phones, the future of the Nokia X2, Nokia XL, Nokia X, and Nokia X+ handsets do not look very good. With the new commercial, the company is trying to use marketing tactics to sell the Nokia X2, according to Phone Arena.

The advertisement highlights the unique features of the Nokia X line of phones. Specifically, the "Fast Lane" feature, which provides an effective way to view the recent notifications and activities pertaining to recent app lookup on the Nokia X handset. However, there is nothing ground-breaking in the commercial and it looks similar to the advert that was released earlier. When it comes to specifications, the Nokia X2 features a 4.3-inch IPS LCD display packed with a screen resolution of 480 x 800 pixels and pixel density of 217 pp. The handset comes with an improved display backed by Nokia's ClearBlack polarization technology. The ClearBlack technology makes the outdoor viewing experience comparatively better. As Anand Tech puts it, "It can make a mediocre display look OK, and a good display look great, at least in my experience." The thickness and the weight of the device stand at 0.44-inch and 150 g respectively.

Under the hood, the Nokia X2 is powered by a dual-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 200) Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz. Also, the Nokia X2 houses 1 GB of RAM. When it comes to OS, the smartphone runs on Nokia X platform 2.0 UI on top of Android OS v4.3 Jelly Bean. The device comes with only 4 GB of in-built storage and microSD card support for expansion up to 32 GB.

The Nokia X2 houses a good 5 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash support and a VGA shooter as the secondary unit. The device is backed by a Li-Ion 1800 mAh user-replaceable battery unit. Notably, the handset comes with dual-sim support. The Nokia X2 (Dual Sim) is priced at 6000 Rubles in Russia (roughly translates to US$167 and AU$180). Nevertheless, Microsoft has not made any announcement on the release date of the handset in other regions at this point.
