OnePlus 2 Priced At Sub-$450 Range, Confirms CEO
The Chinese tech titan OnePlus is apparently getting ready to release the flagship for 2015. A new official teaser showcasing the OnePlus 2 confirms the price ambit of the upcoming handset.
According to CEO Pete Lau, the OnePlus 2 will be priced less than the $450 mark. Needless to say, the actual price could be $449, says GSM Arena. In comparison, the predecessor OnePlus One with 16 GB internal storage capacity was priced at $299, when the handset was launched. In the meantime, the price of the predecessor has been cut and it is now available for just $249. Therefore, comparing the predecessor’s dirt cheap price with the successor, the OnePlus 2 cannot be called as a budget-friendly device.
As far as the rumoured OnePlus 2 specifications go, the smartphone will apparently come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor. To top it off, reports also point to a fingerprint sensor and a USB Type-C port. Speaking of the location of the fingerprint scanner, the unit will reportedly be affixed on the back of the smartphone, embedded on a vertical bar, under the camera and LED flash units.
Although, the exact display size is not known at this point, Phone Arena says, the handset could flaunt a screen size between 5.5-inch and 5.7-inch. The phone is expected to come with 1,080 x 1,920 pixels screen resolution. Plus, the upcoming device will reportedly sport a metal chassis instead of the synonymous plastic exterior.
Furthermore, the OnePlus 2 will apparently be backed by a good 3 GB of RAM configuration, says another Phone Arena report. When it comes to camera configuration, the device will sport an impressive 13 MP rear-facing unit. But then, readers should note that, the Chinese tech titan has not confirmed the OnePlus 2 specifications or features thus far.
On the other hand, according to Phone Arena, the OnePlus 2 release date is set for July 27 at 10 pm EDT. With high expectations and having the history of selling approximately one million OnePlus One units, will OnePlus 2 become a household name? Feel free to leave a comment.
Meanwhile, check out the OnePlus 2 price confirmation from none-other-than the CEO of the company:
