No Matter Studios recently released a reveal trailer for its first game titled “Prey for the Gods.” The trailer features a female protagonist who is struggling to survive in a cold desolate world.

Various elements in the game can be seen in the trailer. The frozen, snow-filled landscapes wrap up the first half of the trailer which is followed by the combat mechanism in the game.

The storyline revolves around a currently unnamed female protagonist. She must battle the gods in order to reverse the extremely cold climatic condition of the world, as reported by Gamesrant. A similarity exists with “Shadow of the Colossus” on how the protagonist handles these massive creatures.

However, the trailer does not answer the methods with which the protagonist uses to take down these creatures. The reference to "Shadow of the Colossus" seems to be intentional as the developer stated that “colossal moments” was the key goal behind creating this game, as reported by VG24/7.

While “Shadow of the Colossus” is a notable title thanks to its ambitious gameplay, when it was first released. What remains to be seen is where No Matter Studios takes this game to because simple copying the game won’t amount to anything.

No Matter Studios is a three-person developer that started last year. The reveal trailer does not provide a concrete idea about whether it is a cinematic or gameplay footage. However, if the latter holds true, then the company has achieved wonders beyond what other big production houses sometimes fail to achieve.

The game has been planned to release on Windows and Mac platform. This might come as a disappointment to console gamers, especially because of the fact that the game holds striking similarities with the classic PS2 game.
