While there are still a few stocks for the PS4 in some online retailers, there are also some freebies that PlayStation gamers can enjoy during the holidays.

As can be seen on the PlayStation Blog, along with the season's greetings from various developers, there are also some deals and surprises for members of PS Plus.

There's the free "Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed," which will be free for members as they enter the Instant Game Collection for the PS Vita. Along with this are a number of hot deals that are currently in the PS Store, including "Proteus," "Dragon Fantasy Book 1 & 2," "Dragon Fantasy 1 and 2," "Diablo 3" and "Ducktales Remastered," all of which are discounted for PS Plus members.

'Blacklight' Beta Stuff All Yours

Another announcement on the PlayStation Blog is targeted for those who played the beta version of "Blacklight Retribution."

Kael Hammond, associated producer at Zombie Studios, has assured that the end game for "Blacklight Retribution" is that playes will not lose the purchases that they made, either with the use of a GP or a ZCoin. The character progress will also not reset, while the ZCoins that players have used will be refunded to their in-game balance, so they can spend them again.

It's a pretty sweet Christmas gift from the developer, as well as a big thank you, for those who participated and commented to improve the game.

PS4 Sells More on eBay

Capping off the year with the last round of comparisons between the Xbox One and the PS4 would be its availability and demand for the holidays.

In a report from Ars Technica, it seems that the PS4 remains to be the better seller, as it not only has the selling rate of 2 to 1 against the Xbox One on eBay but it is also the next-gen console that remains more elusive in retailers.

"Looks like around 65k PS4s and 33k Xbox One's have sold on [eBay] to-date," said Colin Sebastian, analyst for Baird Equity Research, as quoted by Ars Technica.

Basically, a number of speculations can get into play here. The PS4 may only have enjoyed a very fruitful and plentiful Christmas season in terms of the orders that it may have. However, even more elusive here is the fact that the PS4 also does have a problem with pre-order fulfillments, something that the Xbox One may not experience.

The lifespans of the PS4 and Xbox One are still pretty long and they have a long way to go to prove their value to customers. But for the meantime, the PS4 may stay as the best seller for 2013.
