While the PS Vita is currently enjoying a boost in sales as the ultimate PS4 companion, gamers who actually own the handheld device may also enjoy a new take on Remote Play capabilities.

In a Reddit post from codeoncoffee, it seems that Remote Play via PS Vita can also be used as a controller when playing with the PS4.

"My son and I used it at first as a second controller as we only got one in the bundle. I was prepared to be disappointed, but I'm not! It works beautifully. You can connect directly to the PS4's wifi not through your router, and it works in the Very low latency I'm seeing. The Vita's screen makes the games look even more sexy than on my TV," Redditor codeoncoffee said.

News for DCUO, The Last of Us And More

Many PS4 gamers are entering the new year with high hopes for new games, particularly for some exclusives which failed to come out in 2013 for the PS4, such as DriveClub.

This is why PlayStation Blog brings some good news with the holidays, giving Sony fans something to expect for 2014. To begin with, The Last of Us DLC, Left Behind, will be debuting in early 2014, at least according to Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli. In addition, 2014 will also usher in some news and a "full reveal" of Uncharted for PS4. But for now, here's a teaser trailer to keep gamers on their toes.

The team behind DC Universe Online has also announced a few updates for 2014, starting with special activities in lieu of the third anniversary as early as January.

"We've already announced that Armories-one of the biggest features to enter DCUO-and War of Light I DLC are on the docket for 2014, but you're going to see a lot more than that," Larry Liberty, executive producer of the game to PlayStation Blog, said. There's also a revamp of the UI, a new storyline with Amazons, and a Mobile Mainframe app in 2014.

Over at PlayStation Lifestyle, nDreams has also announced that it is currently working on a PS4 exclusive, set to launch next year.

"More details will follow next year, but it's the most ambitious game we have ever created, and we can't wait to reveal more about it-it's going to be something truly special," Patrick O'Luanaigh, nDreams CEO, said to PlayStation Lifestyle.

It may be good to mention here that nDreams has had some experience creating something for Oculus Rift, and if it's an ambitious project, then it's not bad to consider that it may have something to do with Sony's own VR head-mounted display for the PS4.

PS4 Stocks Issues Persist?

Now that the frenzied rush for last-minute holiday shopping has passed, the issue of PS4 stocks being delivered is now becoming a prominent thing to watch out for in the coming weeks of 2014.

A report from Push Square reiterated the possibility of owners getting their PS4 way into 2014, since the demand for Sony's next-gen gaming console has exceeded the current supply.

Quoting an interview with Fergal Gara, SCE UK boss, the report said it may take as long as a couple of months for the supplies to meet the demands.

One proof of this is that every time new supply becomes available in retailers like Amazon, Best Buy and even Sony's online store, the stock immediately sells within hours.

While there has been news of a January shipment coming to Amazon, it's likely that the response to these consoles will be the same-meaning you will have to constantly keep watch on the PS4 stocks when it's updated so as not to miss your chance.
