Freshly leaked official marketing document from Samsung is making rounds in the blogosphere. Apparently, the document belongs to the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Alpha. The same document also provides the full specifications and features of the Galaxy Alpha. It is worth noting that, the reportedly metal-clad Samsung Galaxy Alpha is expected to be a strong contender against the upcoming Apple iPhone 6 slated for a September launch.

The information revealed in the marketing documents is mostly in-line with the already rumoured specs. As per the revealed specifications, the Galaxy Alpha will feature a 4.7-inch Super AMOLED display, similar to the 4.7-inch Apple iPhone 6. In addition, the screen resolution stands at 720p, according to a Portuguese Web site TecMundo.

The Galaxy Alpha will be powered by a superior octa-core (Exynos 5) processor or a quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 801) processor. However, the processor choice is region specific. It is worth noting that, earlier rumours pointed to a killer Snapdragon 805 processor on the Galaxy Alpha. In addition, the handset will house a good 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage capacity. Nevertheless, the device will not come with microSD slot for expansion.

Other salient features include support for fingerprint sensor and heart rate monitor. Apparently, the home button will double as a heart rate monitor similar to the 2014 flagship Samsung Galaxy S5, according to Mobile Burn. The phone also supports standard connectivity options like 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, USB 3.0 and Bluetooth v4.0.

When it comes to camera, the Galaxy Alpha will sport a 12 MP rear-facing unit and a 2.1 MP front-facing shooter. Furthermore, the device will run on Android v4.4 KitKat OS. According to the leaked document, the handset will house a nano-sim.

The phone will be backed by a not-so-impressive 1860 mAh battery unit. The Samsung Galaxy Alpha will be priced at 2399 Brazilian Reals that roughly translates to US$1052 and AU$1137. The Galaxy Alpha release date is pegged towards the end of August or early September.

Interested readers should head to TecMundo to check out the leaked Galaxy Alpha images and the marketing document.
