Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Might Not Feature An S Pen
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has been hounded by rumors about its specs and release date since its predecessor was officially launched into the mobile technology market. However, it appears that its companion, the Galaxy Note 5 Edge, might turn out to be a much more interesting device.
According to Sam Mobile, the upcoming Galaxy Note 5 Edge might even get a new name since it will not be featuring an S Pen. The S Pen is actually one of the most distinguishing and defining features of Samsung’s Note series. Without this special stylus, it would seem that the upcoming flagship phablet might be more similar to the Galaxy S6 Edge than to its fellow Note units, especially with a recent change in its internal codename.
The Galaxy Note 5 Edge was previously referred to as Project Zen. However, it is reportedly being referred to as Project Zero 2 – which is clearly the successor of Project Zero, the Galaxy S6.
Moreover, the report continued to say that both devices will be launched by Samsung’s annual tradition during the IFA 2015, which was scheduled on September 4 to 9. This confirmation quashes earlier reports that the devices might be launched ahead of its scheduled date, particularly in July.
Although it looks like avid Samsung users will have to wait for a few more months before they can get their hands on the next flagship phablet, these are actually very much worth the wait.
According to the rumor mill, as reported by Tech Radar, Galaxy Note 5 will be sporting either a 2K or a 4K screen with the Exynos 7422 processor, while the Galaxy Note 5 Edge will have a 5.4- or 5.5-inch Super AMOLED dual curved screen display and a hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chip. Plus, rumor has it that both units are going to come out with their own keyboard covers.
