Secret Fight Discovered In ‘Mortal Kombat X'
In a move some would consider very old school, it was discovered that “Mortal Kombat X” has a secret fight that can only be accessed after completing a specific number of objectives. There haven’t been a lot of fighting games that have had any secret fights since the 90’s, so it was an interesting move on the part of the developers and many consider it an homage to the original “Mortal Kombat” from Midway.
The “Mortal Kombat X” secret fight was discovered by YouTube user JurassicRabbit, who then detailed the requirements of the fight in a YouTube video, which can be seen below. Players will need to play in the Mortal Kombat 1 Living Tower until they’ve reached the sixth battle, which the players must then win in a flawless manner, while winning the second round with a fatality or a brutality. Even a small percent of damage will render the secret fight unavailable.
Once the objectives have been reached, players will participate in the special “Mortal Kombat X” secret fight. Oddly enough, the fight isn’t against a special boss or a different skin of a character, but instead a regular version of “Mortal Kombat X” character Reptile, who has no alterations to his appearance as reported by Kotaku.
While the secret fight could be considered a bit odd to say the least, Game Rant has confirmed that discovering the “Mortal Kombat X” secret fight gives players an achievement for Xbox One and a trophy for PlayStation 4. When reading the requirements of the trophy, it is stated that a player must find a secret fight in one of the Mortal Kombat towers, hinting at the possibility of even more secret fights in the game.
“Mortal Kombat X” is currently available for the PC, PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One. A mobile version of the game is also available in the App Store for iOS devices, with an Android port coming soon. A last-gen version of the game is expected to hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 sometime this year, though the exact date of the last-gen version is currently unknown.
