Sony’s PlayStation console reached a new milestone last Sept. 9 as it just reached its 20th anniversary. The console made by Sony has seen new heights over the past two decades, and its manufacturers were keen on gifting loyal fans with a special 20th anniversary sale on the PlayStation Store.

The platform holder is currently offering discounts on a wide range of titles. Players visiting the PlayStation Store can see discounts for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, PSP and PS Classics games. And, of course, PlayStation Plus subscribers will be entitled to further discounts. The sale will see discounts for up to 70%, and 80% for PlayStation Plus subscribers. The sale will not last very long as it will end on Sept. 14.

The list as seen here at the official blog of PlayStation shows over 100 titles, some of which are AAA titles for new gen consoles. The PlayStation 4 sales includes hit titles such as “Diablo 3: Reaper of Souls – Ultimate Edition” which sells for $34.79 (AU$ 49.96) or $29.39 ($42.21) for PlayStation Plus subscribers, instead of the regular price of $59.99 (AU $86.15). Even Square Enix’s MMORPG “Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn” will be on sale for $11.99 (AU $17.22)or $9.99 (AU $14.35) for PlayStation Plus members instead of $19.99 (AU $27.71).

For the PlayStation 3, “Beyond Good & Evil HD” is on sale for $3 (AU $4.31) or $2 (AU $2.87) for PlayStation plus Subscribers. A previous entry in the “Metal Gear” series will also be part of the sale as “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD” can be bought for $7.50 (AU $10.72), or $4.50 (AU $6.46) for Plus subscribers.

The console has indeed come a long way since its launch in 1995. Former Joystiq contributing editor Dany Cowan released a documentary detailing the journey of the PlayStation. Viewers could subscribe to Youtube channel, Adventure Pals for more video’s regarding the life of the PlayStation console.
