Both Moto G (2014) and Sony Xperia E3 handsets have recently been launched. Display And Size
The Moto G 2014 features a 5.0-inch IPS LCD display bundled with a screen resolution of 720 x 1,280 pixels. Meanwhile, the Sony Xperia E3 comes with a relatively smaller 4.5-inch IPS display and 480 x 854 pixels resolution. The pixel densities of the Moto G 2014 and the Sony Xperia E3 handsets stand at 294 ppi and 218 ppi respectively.
When it comes to the exterior, the next-gen Moto G has not gone through any aggressive change in terms of outer look, other than the obvious size difference and the improved construction quality. The same plastic build material is maintained with the same changeable back panel option seen in the predecessor Moto G 2013, says Phone Arena. Interestingly, both the handsets are powered by the same quad-core (Qualcomm Snapdragon 400) Cortex-A7 processor, clocked at 1.2 GHz and 1 GB of RAM. The latest Moto G (2014) runs on Android OS v4.4.4 KitKat (upgradable to Android L), whereas the Sony Xperia E3 runs on Android v4.4 KitKat OS.
As far as the memory goes, the Sony device comes equipped with 4 GB of internal storage, while the Motorola handset comes with 8 GB and 16 GB of storage. However, both the handsets support microSD card for expansion up to 32 GB.
Camera And Battery
The Sony Xperia E3 houses a 5 MP primary camera, while Moto G 2014 sports a good 8 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash. In addition, the Sony handset features a VGA shooter as the secondary unit, while the 2014 Moto G sports a 2 MP unit. Furthermore, the Moto G is backed by a Li-Ion 2070 mAh (non-removable) battery, whereas the Xperia E3 comes with a relatively better Li-Ion 2330 mAh (non-removable) battery unit.

1. Similar to other Moto devices, the Moto G 2014 also features alterable rear shell with the help of Motorola Moto Maker site.
2. Both the devices support micro-SIM. In addition, the Sony Xperia E3 comes as dual-SIM variant as well.
3. Both the handsets come equipped with Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi and microUSB support. While the Sony device supports 4G LTE, the Moto G 2014 doesn't.
4. The Xperia E3 has a new feature named "shake to start" that allows users to tailor-make shortcuts to activate/trigger the favoured apps by placing the phone in the hand and shaking the wrist, reports NDTV.

The Sony Xperia E3 4 GB (Dual-SIM) is priced at INR 12,400 in India that roughly translates to AU$226 and US$203. The latest Moto G (2014) 16 GB variant, on the other hand, is priced at 12,999 INR in India that roughly translates to AU$234.
