In addition to releasing impressive smartphones and tablets, Sony has launched a slew of compact cameras with the company’s own Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T lenses. Adding a cherry on top, these lenses are reportedly capable of offering a burst of 30 times (30x) optical zoom effect. The killer cameras in focus are the new Sony Cyber-shot HX90, Cyber-shot HX90V and Cyber-shot WX500.

Speaking of availability, the Sony Cyber-shot HX90, HX90V and WX500 compact cameras can be availed in summer. These cameras reportedly come with 18.2 MP Exmore R CMOS sensors and powered by BIONZ X processor. Plus, they apparently provide excellent picture quality, in addition to offering a bunch of “easy-to-use pro-style functions,” according to Sony.

On the other hand, the Sony Zeiss lens reportedly guarantees sharp, low-distortion images at high-zoom settings. This is one of the areas where other budget optics fails to offer clarity and definition to the captured image, notes Sony. Furthermore, the Clear Image Zoom feature elevates magnification to an unbelievable 60 times more effect with Optical SteadyShot and five-axis image stabilisation, which in turn reduces the wobbling of handheld camera upon trying to capture a clear Full HD video. Moreover, the maximum apertures stand at F3.5 (W) - 6.4 (T) for all three cameras, says the same site.

Meanwhile, the Cyber-shot cameras apparently come with the ability to shoot Full HD videos and 180 degree tiltable LCD fitted perfectly to capture selfies. While the Cyber-shot HX90 and HX90V cameras come with OLED Tru-Finder electronic viewfinders, the WX500 doesn’t. As Sony puts it, “Framing shots on sunny days is a pleasure with the OLED Tru-Finder that pops up as and when needed. Images are bright, crisp and clear, with high contrast and vivid colours.”

Furthermore, the Fast Intelligent AF system featured in the new cameras has reportedly been inspired from Sony’s award-winning “a7” digital camera line-up. Plus, the improved “spatial object detection algorithm” apparently makes the autofocus functionality focus quicker with ease.

To top it off, the Cyber-shot HX90V comes with GPS support. In any case, all three Cyber-shot cameras support Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. Speaking of colour, the Cyber-shot HX90 and Cyber-shot HX90V cameras can be availed in black, whereas the Cyber-shot DSC-WX500 will be sold in black, red and white hues, says Sony.
