The group stage of the 2014 FIFA World Cup has been concluded and the 16 teams who will advance to the knockout stage have been decided. As expected, teams from the Americas have excelled with half of the qualifiers coming from North, Central and South America. Europe under-achieved with only six teams advancing out of a total of 13 spots. Asia came crashing out of the tournament with all four teams going out in the first stage.
