‘Street Fighter V' Game Currencies And New Character Updates
Capcom representative Matt Dahlgren recently gave some “Street Fighter V” updates during his appearance at the EVO 2015 Street Fighter V Panel in Las Vegas. Dahlgren talked about the additional game characters and the different types of currencies the game will support.
According to Gamepur, Dahlgren confirmed there will be four additional characters included in “Street Fighter V.” These characters will complete the game’s roster of 16 fighters. However, he did not give a hint or reveal the fighters’ names. "We feel that's a good balance for a very diverse roster, but not being too overwhelming for new players to hop into the game," he said.
Gamerant reported that there have been previous speculations that “Street Fighter V” will bring back legendary and classic characters. These include Urien, Alex, Karin Kanzuki and R. Mika. However, Capcom has remained tight-lipped about the fighters’ rumoured comeback.
During his appearance at EVO 2015, Matt Dahlgren also revealed that “Street Fighter V” is compatible with two types of currencies, the Fight Money and Zenny. Based on the description shared by Twitter user @thisislijoe, both currencies can be used to unlock new gameplay DLC content. However, Fight Money can only be attained by playing the game, whereas Zenny can be purchased with real money so players can instantly access the content. Capcom announced that ahead of the launch of “Street Fighter V” they “will be using the Beta tests to collect the data needed to balance the in-game economy.”
Dahlgren recently also hinted the addition of classic character costumes in “Street Fighter V” during an interview with IGN at the San Diego Comic-Con. When asked if classic and alternate fighter costumes will be made available to choose in the future, he replied, “Of course!” He went on to say, “I mean, if you look at what happened with Street Fighter 4, there's tons of variety in terms of costumes. We'll definitely be doing that in the long run."
He also addressed fans’ concern over Ken Masters new look in “Street Fighter V.” Gamers reportedly thought the character looked more Asian than Caucasian because of his hair. However, Dahlgren assured that a classic Ken will definitely be among the downloadable contents in the future, along with the retro character costumes.
