'Suits' Season 5 Update: Charles Barkley To Make An Appearance In Episode 3
Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) of “Suits” is a huge basketball fan. If there is some doubt, one needs to just take a look at the autographed basketballs on the window sill at his office. And it looks like he may soon add a new autographed basketball to his collection, as Charles Barkley is set to make a guest appearance as himself in “Suits” Season 5.
The former NBA All-Star Barkley is a fan of the show and he loves its cast as well, according to The Hollywood Reporter (THR). When “Suits” creator Aaron Korsh came to know about Barkley’s love for “Suits,” he offered him a cameo role on the show. Korsh told THR that he is a fan of the game as well as Barkley. The “Inside the NBA” host accepted the offer despite his busy schedule.
“It’s really cool for me, because when they heard me bragging about the show they invited me and I was like, ‘I gotta make it work,’ ” Barkley told THR. “Right now with playoffs we’re in our busy time and the only day we have off is Friday. I was like, ‘I don’t give a shit. My day off, we’re going up there to Toronto.”
Barkley will be making an appearance as one of Harvey’s high-profile clients in episode 3 of “Suits” Season 5, THR reports. He will be called in to help Harvey’s firm when the lawyer ends up in a problematic situation with another non-name partner. The things, however, would not go as he expects them to go. Korsh told THR that Barkley has a speaking role. The basketball star prepared for the role with Macht and director Anton Cropper's help.
Meanwhile, Christina Cole has signed on to play Harvey’s Harvard educated shrink, Dr. Paula Agard, in the new season. She will be seen playing a cat and mouse game with Harvey.
“Suits” Season 5 is scheduled to premiere on Wednesday, June 24. The new season will see Harvey dealing with his issues without Donna (Sarah Rafferty), as she will be working for Louis (Rick Hoffman), while the newly-engaged Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel (Meghan Markle) will be seen facing new issues in their relationship.
