Taylor Swift Not 'Miserable' After All?

Country crooner, Taylor Swift, was said to be cast in the highly-acclaimed Broadway show "Le Miserables." Weeks after the said announcement, rumors now break out that Swift was an unlikely choice and they've already cast someone else.

The announcement was made during the earlier days of January. Grammy winner, Taylor Swift, was said to be cast as Eponine. Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen were already contacted to play the part of Eponine's mother and father.

Director Tom Hooper had a few other choices in mind aside from the singer of who include "Glee" star, Lea Michele, "The Avengers", Scarlett Johansson and actress, Evan Rachel Wood.

However, unlucky as she is when it comes to love; Taylor Swift was albeit unlucky in nabbing the role as Eponine.

The role of Eponine was nabbed by Samantha Barks. Though a few may not immediately recognize who Barks is, Samantha is a British stage actress who is quite talented on theatrical shows. The 21-year old British actress played the role as Eponine twice and this being another shot at playing it for the third time.

If Barks still doesn't quite ring a bell, then a few fans of the Jonas Brothers might recognize her as one of the girls romantically linked with Nick Jonas. Nick, who also has a fondness over Broadway shows, was once part of the musical in 2011 during the 25^th Anniversary Concert which took place at the 02 Arena.

The announcement of Samantha Barks playing Eponine was made on stage which definitely surprised the young stage actress. She took to twitter to express her utmost delight and joy over having been chosen for the part.

"Words cannot express how much I appreciate all the amazing support I have received from everyone! I haven't stopped smiling!" tweeted Samantha Barks.

As for Taylor Swift, this may have been a loss for what could have been an awesome start at Broadway, the country crooner is busy with a few projects herself of which include being on the cover of Vogue and being nominated for three big shot awards at the upcoming Academy of Country Music Awards.
