Ubisoft's new cave painting livestream identified as 'Far Cry Primal'
Multinational video game developer Ubisoft is streaming a live video in YouTube of what appears to be the teaser for a new game. The video centers around a cave painting that displays a man holding a bow in his right hand and a large spear in the other.
New developments have identified as Far Cry Primal, as revealed by the IGN Turkey Twitter account unintentionally, reported PCGamer. While the new tweet has already been taken down, the video remains.
What makes it intriguing is the music coupled with the sound of the growling beast and ritualistic chanting, which creates tension in the viewer’s mind. There seems to be normal speech interspersed with the video. However, because of layered echo effect, it is hard to decipher what is being said, reported GameSpot.
The video has been streaming live for quite some time now and has been slowly zooming out to reveal the bigger picture. Currently, the video provides no information about any popular game from the company’s catalogue, but it does suggest that new announcements from Ubisoft are on the way.
With only a controversial video description that reads “Survival is Timeless”, the gaming community is now speculating the possibility that the video may be for an upcoming “Far Cry” game. This is because survival has been a fundamental aspect common to the game franchise.
The video also suggests other multiple ideas. It might be related to a new spin-off for the “Far Cry” franchise or it could also be a brand new game from Ubisoft. The video could also be a bigger picture to Ubisoft’s multiplayer game “For Today”, an RPG game taking place in the medieval time zone.
“Far Cry” ranks as the flagship open world shooter game from Ubisoft. It is a franchise that Ubisoft considers as one of its stronger long-running titles. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot previously dubbed the franchise as a series that is on the list of the company’s long term interests.
This comes as no surprise, since “Far Cry 4” broke preconceived expectations of Ubisoft by outperforming in this field. It has also sold more copies than “Far Cry 3”.
