Windows 10 Mobile News: Cortana Can Finally Send Emails
In Windows 10 Mobile build 10149, Cortana can now send emails. Microsoft has released the build to the members of the Windows Insider preview programme. Ever since its launch in 2014 Cortana has been improvising with significant feature updates.
Microsoft’s Gabe Aul, announced the release of Build 10149 in a blog post and said, “We’ve been using this build internally for a few days and have really loved it.” He also mentioned that, “It is faster, more stable, and more polished overall and has been lots of fun for us to see come together.”
The Windows 10 platform will empower Cortana and bring in new features on board. Microsoft’s voice-recognition software can now emails by just saying “send email to X.” A voice-operated sequence automatically starts. Users simply need to dictate a message and say who they want it sent to. Cortana will do the rest. The message can be sent to multiple users. There will be an option as well to make changes if the message does not sound correct. During the first launch of Windows 10, Microsoft had demonstrated this unique feature. This is undoubtedly a great addition to the ever flourishing Cortana.
Microsoft even hopes to integrate third-party apps with Cortana and thus the Windows Store Beta also now includes a section for “Apps for Cortana.”
Apparently, Windows 10 Mobile appears to be more refined than the recent builds for PCs. They have appreciably improved from the previous builds. To make the whole build look appealing, the company has also introduced a series of fixes and improvements. Gabe Aul mentioned on his blog, “You’ll see a lot of UX improvements and refinement in this build.” The new browser, Microsoft Edge will also receive a number of enhancements.
Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella also opined on building "the best instantiation of this vision through our Windows device platform and our devices." This indicates that Windows 10 Mobile is expected to be one of its kinds in future. Previously in April he also mentioned that, "we are focused on making Windows 10 the most loved version of Windows ever." Nadella also feels that Cortana will be one “big” reason for the users to fall in love with the latest OS.
