'Winds of Winter' author George R. R. Martin's take on Donald Trump Presidency; 'worst president in American history'
“Winds of Winter” author George R. R. Martin has used some strong words about President-elect Donald Trump. The author has been a supporter of Hillary Clinton, and after the results have been announced he has expressed his lack of faith in a man who will take Barack Obama’s place.
A post in the official blog of the author is titled “President Pu—ygrabber,” a reference to some controversial remarks Trump made previously. The issue had become a major talking point during the campaign. Martin expressed his disappointment with the results by saying there are no words to describe his state of mind.
“Trump was the least qualified candidate ever nominated by a major party for the presidency. Come January, he will become the worst president in American history, and a dangerously unstable player on the world stage,” Martin said in his blog.
Martin also pointed out that the Democrats are now a minority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate. That means they will not be able to block anything without the support of the Republicans.
The “Winds of Winter” author feels that America’s problems are going to get “much, much worse” in the next four years while Trump is the President. Martin also used the words “Winter is coming,” from his book series, to describe the future.
Martin stays in Santa Fe, New Mexico. In another blog post the author explained how his state, which had been turned blue thanks to the efforts of Obama, had suddenly become a battleground in the recent campaign. In the end the state chose Clinton, but the 5 electoral votes did little to dent the victory march of Trump.
There have been reports that suggest Martin has finished writing “Winds of Winter” and it is currently being edited. If true, this gives him a lot of free time on his hands. But, the author has so far not made any announcements about the release of his next book in “A Song of Ice and Fire” series.
