‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ Hearts of Stone physical edition copies delayed several days

The first paid expansion of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt,” is the much awaited Hearts of Stone, which is expected to introduce a slew of content for the base game. The expansion was scheduled to launch last Oct. 13, and it did launch on the target date but the physical version was delayed by the developer.

In an announcement made at the official forum of CD Projekt Red, the developer states that the physical version of Hearts of Stone will be delayed a few days. The digital copy pushed through the target date, and CD Projeckt Red has yet to announce when the physical copy will officially hit shelves.

The developer’s community coordinator, Marcin Momot said that the reason for the delay of the boxed limited-edition of Hearts of Stone was caused by logistical problems. He added that all customers from all regions will be unable to secure a copy of the physical edition of the expansion several days after Oct. 13. Momot then said that game retailer GameStop, is seen as the possible exclusive distributor of the copy.

"We are working with GameStop to fix this situation as soon as possible," said Momot.

The special boxed edition of Hearts of Stone is a sought after item for every “The Witcher 3” fan. Aside from a copy of Hearts of Stone, the $19.99 physical edition will also include real-life Gwent cards based on those seen in “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” If players are unable to secure a physical copy of Hearts of Stone, they could still opt to buy the Gwent cards separately from a website.

Hearts of Stone is available for the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One. It is set to include a whole new cast of characters to meet, quests to do, monsters to slay and equipment to use. It will further expand the already massive “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.”
