‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’ to receive new patch
“The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” is going to receive a patch that is set to address a massive number of issues in the game. Developer CD Projekt Red is yet to release the full patch notes of the upcoming update as the company is still currently working on it.
The announcement of the patch was first seen on the forum of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” It was posted by community manager Marcin Momot. He stated that patch 1.09 will fix a lot of issues within the game and that it is geared toward providing a smoother performance for players.
"Was just looking at the changelog and it looks really impressive -- the list of changes is massive,” Momot said. He added that “the update will bring a lot of fixes and improvements including PS4 performance (as well as other platforms) plus many more.” However, he did not mention a time frame for the upcoming patch and merely told fans to wait patiently for it.
The patch could reportedly come just in time for the release of the first expansion of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” Hearts of Stone will launch on Oct. 13, and Gamespot reports that there’s a slew of new content for the first expansion. The expansion will add around 10 hours of gameplay to the title.
What’s good about the upcoming expansion is that it’s a separate story from the main plot of “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” This means that those who have yet to finish the game can play through the expansion without spoilers.
The expansion will come with a set of new quests, equipment and enemies. Aside from the additions to the base game, a new mechanic called Runewords will also be introduced to the expansion. Runewords are basically temporary buffs for the protagonist Geralt.
