‘Wolverine' Star Hugh Jackman Talks 'X-Men: Apocalypse' And 'Deadpool' Cameo
Hugh Jackman was recently asked whether he would have a cameo appearance as Wolverine in “Deadpool” opposite his good friend Ryan Reynolds. The Australian actor also talked about the production of “X-Men: Apocalypse” where he’s set to return.
Hugh Jackman briefly talked about Wolverine during one of his promotional tours for his new documentary, “"Dukale’s Dream.” The actor was asked for details about his character’s possible appearance in “Deadpool.” Hugh didn’t reveal much to avoid spoilers. But according to The Huffington Post the actor somehow hinted that Logan will indeed meet Wade Wilson again.
"Hmmm, I can't ... no. Nope," he muttered along with a “sweet smile.” Jackman's smile reportedly hinted Wolverine’s possible cameo appearance in “Deadpool.” "But, I am really good mates with [Reynolds] so ..." he added.
Hugh Jackman is also set to make another appearance as Wolverine in “X-Men: Apocalypse” before his “Wolverine 3” starring role. However, the actor had little to say about the matter too and opted to remain mum about his role in the sequel. All he could reply was “who knows?” when asked by Huffington Post.
The Australian was once asked by MTV News about his thoughts on Logan having a cameo appearance in “Deadpool.” “They [Wolverine and Deadpool] are definitely enemies in the comics, and they always spark off well together, so I’d be open to that idea,” he said.
Apparently, Ryan Reynolds also wants to see Wolverine in the film. When asked during an interview with Australia’s News.com whether Wolverine will have a cameo in “Deadpool,” Ryan replied, “God I hope so, that would be really nice.”
However, the actor said scheduling conflicts may hinder Hugh Jackman from shooting his scenes in the film. Per Slashfilm, Jackman is currently busy with “X-Men: Apocalypse” with its production in Montreal while “Deadpool” in Vancouver. The actor may not have enough time to accommodate “Deadpool” since he reportedly also has other projects lined up after “Apocalypse” including “The Greatest Showman on Earth” and Wolverine 3.”
Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine first met Wade Wilson a.k.a. Deadpool in “X-Men: Origins,” where Reynold’s debuted the character. Since then the two actors have remained close friends. According to Comicbook, both characters’ intertwining backstories in the Marvel comics could pave way for Hugh Jackman’s cameo appearance in “Deadpool.”
