‘WWE 2K16’ roster reveal adds more wrestling legends
This week’s additions to the “WWE 2K16” roster marks the second to the last roster reveal for the wrestling game. With this week’s additions, the total roster comes to a total of exactly 100. The additions this week are mostly legends in the business, including the three identities of Mick Foley and the owner of WWE himself, Vince McMahon.
The fifth roster reveal sees the release of only two WWE wrestlers who are still currently active: Christian and Damien Sandow. The rest of the additions are mostly stars from the 1980s and 1990s, IGN reports. “WWE 2K16” has already seen some legends added to its roster, and the developer won’t shy away with adding more.
Bret “The Hitman” Hart will join the fray along with other WWE legends including Jake “The Snake” Roberts and The British Bulldog. With past reveals including the likes of The Ultimate Warrior, Rowdy Roddy Piper and “Macho Man” Randy Savage, “WWE 2K16” is gearing up to be one of the most star-studded WWE titles to date. The roster filled with classic and current wrestlers could also prove beneficial for the game as it could attract fans, both new and old, to the organisation.
The other additions also complete some of the WWE’s well-known stables. Farooq, D. Lo Brown and Kama Mustafa, along with The Rock, form WWE’s Nation of Domination, while Shawn Michaels and X-Pac add up to the many members of DX.
Other additions include Billy Gunn, Vader, Paul Wight, Rikishi, Neil “The Anvil” Neidhart, The Honky Tonk Man, Haku and MMA Legend, Ken Shamrock. Along with the three identities of Mick Foley--Mankind, Dude Love and Cactus Jack--and WWE owner Vince McMahon and his son Shane MacMahon, this week’s roster reveal sums up to 23 new wrestlers.
With “WWE 2K16” nearing its launch date on Oct. 27, 2K has begun finalising the game. Wrestling News reports that the cover artist for the game will be no other than “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. However, some of the members in the 2K committee wanted Roman Reigns to be on the cover, but they reportedly figured that he isn’t up to par with other superstars in terms of popularity.
