WWE News: Vince McMahon And Brock Lesnar Involved In Backstage Shouting Match At RAW
World Wrestling Entertainment, or WWE, world heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar was in Newark, New Jersey for last week’s edition of RAW to discuss his contract situation with the outfit. While he was not scheduled to appear in any of the matches, reports claim that the “Beast Incarnate” walked out on WWE Chairman Vince McMahon after an intense shouting match.
“Brock Lesnar reportedly left Raw early last night as he was upset with something business related. Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reported Brock Lesnar was visibly angry backstage, and may have even walked out of the Raw taping before it went off the air,” Nick Paglino of Wrestling Zone explained the root cause of Lesnar’s behaviour.
Lesnar and McMahon were apparently in the middle of the negotiations for the contract extension for the current champion when things became heated that led to the former Ultimate Fighting Championship star to walk off without settling the issue. Nevertheless, McMahon is reportedly firm on his decision that no Plan B will be hatched ahead of Wrestlemania 31 and that Lesnar will still be featured in the main event against Roman Reigns.
The latest incident is creating the new divide to the relationship between the outfit and its talent. Last Feb. 28, Lesnar appeared during UFC 184 at Staples Center, Los Angeles even it reports are coming in that McMahon was against his showing up at the event. Lesnar’s presence in the Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano starrer triggered talks that there is no stopping his return to the Ocatagon and that he is just playing out the remaining days of his contract with the WWE.
Both camps have been silent on the issue especially Lesnar’s given that his contract with the WWE is set to expire in the next 2 months. There have been talks that due to the continued conflict with the business side of the WWE, the current heavyweight champion may opt to boycott Wrestlemania 31 altogether. However with just 4 dates on his contract, the 37-year-old behemoth is more likely to fulfil his last remaining schedule rather than run the risk of being sued for breach of contract. Below are the supposed final appearances of Lesnar with the outfit:
• 3/9 Raw in Pittsburgh
• 3/23 Raw in Los Angeles
• WrestleMania 31
• Raw the day after WrestleMania in San Jose
