With the PS4 and Xbox One arrival just a few days away, it's not uncommon for the excitement to go off the rails---even more so if you got to have the Xbox One earlier than others.

This was the case of the controversial Xbox One owner who was fortunate enough to be part of the group who got theirs early via the early shipping by Target. And apparently, the user was so excited that he had leaked information about the console way ahead of its Nov 22 release date.

Kotaku has had an exclusive with the gamer, real name Andre Weingarten but also more known as Moonlight Swami. He had documented his experience with the Xbox One even for just a while before Microsoft took action and banned him for doing so.

Microsoft has already confirmed that the fault was with Target instead of the apparently 150 users who may already have their Xbox One a full 11 days before the actual launch.

As for Moonlight Swami, the ban is only temporary, but this does not mean that he can't enjoy some of its features. Online apps and connectivity aside, he can still play some games that don't need the Internet---a kind of newer Xbox 360, for the meantime.

PS4: Making the Most Out of its Rival's Issue

Though things have been smoothened out with Moonlight Swami, Microsoft and the gamer's unboxing YouTube videos, it seems that Sony didn't waste time in jumping the bandwagon and pushing for a better image for the PS4.

Cinema Blend reports that Sony's fans have also started to ask what-if questions about bans, such as getting their PS4 consoles earlier than the allotted release date for the regions. Twitter user @jahermon91 asked, "@yosp If for some reason the console received before 29 in Europe and connect to the internet, Sony bans us?"

Sony Worldwide boss Shuhei Yoshida personally responded to the question via his Twitter saying a simple "No." Obviously, this is a great time for Sony to bring back the gamers' faith in their next-gen PS4, especially after the rather disappointing news that it will lack some features that the Xbox One will offer.

And that alone seems to be a good enough sign for those who may either be getting their PS4 consoles from other regions (particularly those outside of North America, where the release date is 1 week later). This means that, even if you do get your PS4 earlier than your area's release date, you won't have to deal with a ban. So, who wins this round?

Current Gen Owners Get Ready for the Transition

Though it's a given that not everyone will opt to move forward with the gaming industry and get the next-gen consoles, there are many gamers who will not only indulge in the PS4 or Xbox One (or even both) but also keep their current-gen consoles handy for some other games.

At the start, Spawnfirst reports that it may be a hassle to transition from the old to the new, but both companies have given pointers on how to go about this. For instance, Microsoft has announced well before the release date of the Xbox One that it will no longer make use of Microsoft Points but rather real currency.

At the same time, a gamer will only need one Xbox Live Gold membership for both the current and next-gen console, and both of these will be able to access the account in a seamless manner.

As for the PS4, the report affirms that the wallet amount that is already in your PS3 or PS Vita can be carried over to the PS4. This was confirmed by none other than Yoshida himself, albeit it in a very straightforward manner ("Yes") again via his Twitter account.
