After back-to-back releases in 2015, Xiaomi is ready to start 2016 by introducing it’s newest flagship product, the Redmi 3, in the market. According to reports, Xiaomi Redmi 3 will have a whopping 4,100 mAh battery, which is almost double in power as compared to its predecessor Redmi 2.

As Redmi 3 is scheduled to release in Jan.12, teasers of specs have surfaced, and they increase excitement among users.

By launching Redmi 3, Xiaomi is adding another feather to its affordable products portfolio. The new smartphone is said to sport a 5-inch display and a high powered battery with a metal body.

Recently, a teaser image of Redmi 3 surfaced on Weibo. The picture shows that the back panel will have a plaid pattern, and it is expected that it will set a trend similar to how Redmi Note 3 created a trend by introducing metal body.

In recent years, large tech companies have unveiled new smartphone body designs and the Redmi 3’s textured finish on the rear panel is something new to join the trend.

It is expected that the 4,100mAh battery may last at least two days on a single charge, if the rumored specifications are used in the phone.

According to Tech Times, the Redmi 3 will have Snapdragon 616 SoC and 2GB RAM along with 16GB of internal memory. A 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera are included in the device. It will have an octa-core 1.5 GHz processor. The device runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, MIUI on top of it. It is anticipated that the new smartphone will have an expandable memory feature.

Xioami is reported to have increased the specs as compared to its predecessors, the Redmi 2 and the Redmi 2 Prime. The Redmi 2 Prime sports only a 4.7-inch display, 2, 200mAh battery and 2GB of RAM. The device is powered by 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 chipset and offers 16 GB of memory along with 8MP rear camera and a 2MP front camera.
