Xiaomi's latest handset Mi4 is the talk of the town. This firm is making all the right noises to get noticed across the globe. During March, the company launched Xiaomi Redmi Note phablet in selected markets. But now the Xiaomi Redmi Note's 4G LTE variant is in the offing.

As far as the specification goes, the 4G variant features the same 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1,280 pixels screen resolution. The device comes with a thickness of 9.5 mm, which is the same as the predecessor, says GSM Arena. However, according to Weibo post via The Next Web, the company Xiaomi disclosed that the Redmi Note 4G model will be lighter than the predecessor 3G model by 10 g. Notably, the 3G model comes with a weight of 199 g.

Also, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G model is powered by a quad-core (Qualcomm MSM8928 Snapdragon 400) processor clocked at 1.6 GHz and houses 2 GB of RAM. The non-LTE Redmi Note, on the other hand, is powered by an octa-core (MediaTek MT6592) processor clocked at 1.7 GHz.

The 4G variant of the phablet comes with 8 GB internal storage capacity and microSD card support for expansion up to 64 GB. Furthermore, this handset is a single-SIM variant, while the 3G model comes with two SIM card slots. This could be a deal breaker for many potential buyers. Also, the device runs on Android 4.4.2 (kitKat) with MIUI v5.0.

When it comes to camera, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G model sports a solid 13 MP rear-facing camera unit with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture. In addition, the handset is backed by an impressive 3,200 mAh battery unit.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G will come in black and white hues. However, the company offers protective covers with umpteen colour choices. Furthermore, the good news is that the 4G model of Redmi Note's price tag will remain the same as the predecessor. The original version costs CNY 999 that roughly translates to US$162 and AU$174. Apparently, the handset will be launched in China followed by Malaysia. Nevertheless, there is no information available on the global release date at this point.
