Zayn Malik's New Solo Song Will 'Shock' His Fans, Claims Naughty Boy
American singer and songwriter Naughty Boy has confirmed that Zayn Malik is singing a track on his upcoming new album. Naughty Boy, whose real name is Shahid Khan, says that he has already recorded the track with the former One Direction hunk and he promises it would “shock” the fans of the former One Direction member.
"Zayn is definitely going to be on the album," Naughty Boy said Bang Showbiz (via RTE). "I'm keeping it interesting. I'm an artist person and I'm drawn to proper singers and artists and to me Zayn is the epitome of a great artist," he added. Malik's track will be featured on his yet-untitled upcoming LP, which is the follow-up to his 2013 debut album "Hotel Cabana."
Though Naughty Boy did not give a release date for the song, he said that it will be out in “a couple of months, [and] you are going to be shocked by what he comes out with.” According to various websites, the track is titled "One Chance to Dance” and Malik has been working on it with Naughty Boy much before he announced his decision to quit One Direction in March.
Malik's collaboration with Naughty Boy had even irked his former bandmate Louis Tomlinson and he made fun of Naughty Boy on Twitter. But Malik did not like the diss made by Tomlinson and asked him to “stop b—ching” about him. But Naughty Boy has all respect for Malik's past. He calls Malik's time with One Direction as the “most important for him” but at the same time he also feels that Malik has a “future beyond that.”
The solo song by Malik also has the blessings of his mentor and media guru Simon Cowell. After winning "The X Factor," Cowell signed Malik and the rest of the boys Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson to his record label, Syco Records. In his previous interview, Naughty Boy said that Cowell liked the track.
