There is no room for speculation now. It is now confirmed that Jessica Lange will not be returning to star in another season of “American Horror Story.” The veteran actress has herself said that she is done with FX’s horror anthology series.

Before the premiere of “American Horror Story” Season 4, subtitled “Freak Show,” the actress had said that she would be leaving the show after Season 4. At PaleyFest, Lange put an end to all the rumours and speculations that she might make an appearance in Season 5. “I’m done,” BuzzFeed has quoted her as saying at “American Horror Story: Freak Show” panel.

She also said that she “absolutely loved” doing the four characters, Constance Langdon, Sister Jude Martin, Fiona Goode and Elsa Mars, that she had the opportunity to play in the four seasons of the horror anthology series, “Murder House,” “Asylum,” “Coven” and “Freak Show.” “In all the madness, I’ve loved the writers and my actors and Ryan [Murphy, creator of the show] and the whole, I mean, insanity of it,” the actress said at PaleyFest, as quoted by BuzzFeed.

Recently, Lady Gaga took to Twitter to announce that she is doing Season 5 of “American Horror Story.” She also revealed the title of the upcoming season: “Hotel.” The popular singer has been cast as a series regular. The details about Lady Gaga’s character have been kept under wraps.

According to Deadline, when a fan asked Lange if Lady Gaga’s joining the cast would convince her to do another season of the horror anthology series. The actress said, “What does that mean?” At the PaleyFest panel, Lange also revealed that she is the one who gave the idea to Murphy to set “Freak Show” at a carnival, as she always loved the idea of a carnival and travelling troupe. She said that she remembers that as a child she used to go to the "dusty small town carnivals" to see the freak shows. "No live freaks, but weird things,” Deadline has quoted her as saying.

“American Horror Story-Hotel” is expected to premiere sometime this October. The production on the upcoming Season 5 is scheduled to begin in late summer in Los Angeles, according to reports. Season 3 and Season 4 of “American Horror Story” were filmed in New Orleans.
