Apple iPad Pro To Compete With Microsoft Surface Pro 3 With 12.2-Inch Display, Front-Facing Speakers, iSight Camera And More
Apple's upcoming iPad Pro tablet is making news for quite some, with speculated features and specifications. Both fans and critics were expecting Apple to introduce or acknowledge the existence of such a device, during the unveiling of the iPad Mini 3 and iPad Air 2. But as readers might know, Apple was tight-lipped about the device. But now, we have information that the iPad Pro tablet is still on.
Notably, right after unveiling the successor of Mini and Air tablets, rumours cropped up stating that the Cupertino-based company is not working on the Pro. With the recent reports, the Apple iPad Pro will reportedly be bigger than the well-received 9.7-inch iPad Air 2. Plus, a credible Japanese blog with the history of providing accurate Apple news named Macotakara states that the tech giant is, in fact, working on the iPad Pro tablet to compete with Microsoft's much-appreciated Surface Pro 3, according to Phone Arena.
It is worth noting that the Surface Pro 3 tablet can double as a laptop and is quite popular among the enterprise crowd. Also, the latest report states that, the iPad Pro will feature a 12.2-inch display, which is in contrast to the earlier reports of 12.9-inch display. Moreover, the display is affixed on a thin chassis, in the likes of Apple iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones.
The uniqueness comes from the usage of different design language when compared to the smaller iPad Air and Mini devices. Plus, the iSight sensor on the front will be similar to Apple's MacBook Air model. And the Fingerprint scanner, aka TouchID, will not be embossed on a slightly concave home button, as seen in iPad Air 2. Furthermore, the iPad Pro will come equipped with two front facing stereo speakers, in addition to dual-array microphones.
On the other hand, the release date of the Apple iPad Pro is pegged to be dangling sometime between nine months in 2015 i.e. first three quarters of next year. It is worth noting that, Microsoft's Surface tablets gained traction even though it has not beaten the iPad line-up yet. Last quarter, the company reported that the sales of the Surface devices surged 127 percent to $908 million, whereas Apple reported revenues of $5.3 billion in the last quarter pertaining to the iPad line of tablets.
What do you think of the device? Can Apple beat Surface Pro 3 with its iPad Pro? Feel free to leave a comment.
