BioShock Infinite Finally Gets DLC, Martian Manhunter Out with Free INJUSTICE Skin, Dishonored Brigmore Witches Details
After months of waiting for the official DLC that comes with the Season Pass, BioShock Infinite finally gets its first DLC, now available at Steam and heading to the PS3 and Xbox 360 for $5.
Titled Clash in the Clouds, the DLC will feature an arena combat mode, as well as four different maps and 15 waves of enemies, reports Joystiq.
Here you can earn varying amounts of money depending on the fighting styles of the enemies. You will also face blue ribbon challenges, where you will be restricted to the way you will be fighting with each wave of enemy.
The rewards that you will get can allow you to unlock items in The Columbian Archeological Society, where you can display different items, your own trophy room of sorts.
There has already been a decent amount of reaction to the Clash in the Clouds, with some surprised at how the much-awaited DLC turned out to be a combat mode. Before you rage disappointments and fury at the Season Pass, the next DLC is already in line and ready for the details.
It will be a two-part DLC, presumably the next part being in the next last DLC, and the first story is titled Burial at Sea. Here, you'll be taken to Rapture with Elizabeth, and this time, you'll be playing both characters.
The story will occur on New Year's Eve of 1958, when the bombing happened in Rapture and the revolution took place. So the DLC is positioning itself to tell the story of Columbia but in an interesting and integrated way.
"We are really excited to offer our fans the content that they have been asking for. With Clash in the Clouds, people get a pure action experience that takes BioShock Infinite combat to its highest challenge and intensity level," said Ken Levine, creative director for Irrational Games, in an interview quoted by VG 247.
"With the Burial at Sea episodes, we are building a Rapture-based narrative experience that is almost entirely built from scratch."
Burial at Sea will be available come the fall, with no word yet on when the next-part DLC will be released.
INJUSTICE gets Martian Manhunter
Another character is now official part of the Injustice: Gods Among Us roster of heroes and villains as Martian Manhunter becomes available for download on the PlayStation Network at $4.99 and Xbox Live at 400 Microsoft Points or $5.
Ed Boon, creative head at NetherRealm Studios has already confirmed via Twitter that a second season pass will not be made available, so all the characters who are not part of the previous pass will not be bundled together at an affordable price.
So far, apart from Martian Manhunter, Boon has also teased another DLC character, one that is slated to be a "BIG fan favorite," with many speculations pointing to the likes of Zatanna and Power Girl as the two leading possible choices.
DLCentral adds that, apart from apart from Martian Manhunter, you can also get a John Stewart Green Lantern skin, coming alongside the Compatibility Pack #5 as a free content.
There has not yet been word in when and if Martian Manhunter, as well as other follow-up DLC characters will find their way to the WiI U platform, as the creators still have not yet given any word or hint on what they plan to do.
Dishonored gets two additional areas in last DLC
Dishonored will be getting its last DLC this August, one that will be titled Brigmore Witches. Here, players will get access to two new areas, Draper's Ward and Brigmore Mansion.
"It's a little bit like the distillery district from the original game except it's probably a little bigger. It's an urban street area that is controlled by two gangs that are at war with each other, and so Daud has to navigate this," said Ricardo Bare, Dishonored designer, in an interview quoted by DLCentral. "There's a dock area, a canal, a street area, a textile mill, and a hidden area that's pretty fun."
Going beyond Dunwall City and the area which will feature the home of the witches, Brigmore Manor will feature the rotting estate that is a good full day or two away from the city.
What's different about this setting is that you get an entire dilapidated manor for a battle, and the scene can be the grimmest of the grim.
The Brigmore Witches DLC is slated for release on August 13 for the PS3 at $9.99 and the Xbox 360 at $10.
