After reports about the disappearance of the release date window for the Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update last week, the French carrier SFR updated its January KitKat update schedule with two noteworthy additions, the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.

Few weeks back, SFR claimed the release of the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 4 in January or early February. Typically, carrier updates are behind international releases, so, at time, the potential release date was expected before the SFR January or February roll out.

Today, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 KitKat update mysteriously started rolling out. Although the roll out is limited to Poland at this time, there is a big chance that SFR will be able to stick to its report.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update remains missing despite the leak that recently emerged. Luckily, SFR claims that the update will roll out sometime in January or early February.

Last week, SFR announced the January schedule of its Android updates, and surprisingly, the Galaxy S4 and the Galaxy Note 3 were not included in the list. Reports were made about the omission, but SFR did not make official statements about it. Yesterday, the January schedule is back with the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy S4 included.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4 KitKat update is listed to arrive in January or February, although we have heard that Samsung is aiming for February or March roll out. But then again, SFR remains confident about its roll out window. Nevertheless, this is a good sign for Samsung Galaxy S4 owners who are waiting for the Android 4.4 KitKat update.

The Android 4.4 KitKat is not expected to be a massive upgrade like the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It appears that the Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 will stay for a while as it comes with a couple of likeable features.
