Kardashian Somber, Copes Through Work

Kim Kardashian made her first public appearance as a single woman in Sydney, Australia for the launch of her new handbag collection.

With sister Khloe and brother-in-law Lamar Odon by her side, the reality TV star braved the throng of media and fans waiting for a glimpse. The trio touched down in Oz to promote the Kardashian Kollection handbag launch at Hugo's department store.

The newly-separated starlet opted to dress conservatively in a black cardigan and a high-collared dress, veering away from her usual body-baring outfits.

Kardashian appeared somber and reserved on the red carpet, but she opened up a little in a radio interview with Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O.

"I mean, in a tough situation I'm trying to do the best that I can," she revealed.

The 31-year-old described the business trip as an "escape" from all the hoopla surrounding her in LA, and added, "There's really no easy way to go through something like this."

Her younger sister Khloe commends the starlet for honoring her work commitments during trying times. "I'm so proud of my sister for being so strong," the fiery brunette declared. "We're here as a commitment. She is indulging herself in work and we're here."

Kardashian also appeared on the morning news show Sunrise in her first television interview since filing for divorce from husband of 72 days Kris Humphries.

"I think when you know so deep in your heart that you just have to listen to your intuiton and follow your heart there's no right or wrong thing to do," she told Sunrise.

"I'm not ready to get into the details of it. What upsets me the most is there have been so many rumours ... so much of it is not true."

Australia has provided the star with plenty of distractions from her troubles. Fans will get the chance to catch a glimpse of the sisters this morning at the Davis Jones department store, and Kardashian will be appearing at the final day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival as a guest of Swisse Vitamins.

Meanwhile, the other half of the estranged couple is keeping out of media's watchful eye. Kris Humphries reportedly cancelled his scheduled appearance at the Chateau Nightclub in Las Vegas after news broke of his impending divorce.
