It happened to Twitter before, now accounts and passwords of LinkedIn, Lastfm and eHarmony are hacked and leaked on the Internet. Thus, users are advised to change and use strong passwords to protect their accounts.

Last week, business social network LinkedIn announced that six millions passwords from accounts in their website were posted on the Internet. The hacking continues as music website Lastfm and dating website eHarmony joined the list of websites with accounts, especially the passwords, exposed on the Internet.

The dating website said the passwords of a "small fraction" of its users had been compromised. eHarmony has more than 20 million online users. However, it did not reveal how many were affected by the security breach but tech new website Ars Technica said that 1.5 million passwords leaked and were posted online.

In eHarmony's recent blog, the dating service site it had reset the passwords of the affected users. These users will receive an email with instructions on how to set new passwords. The website also reminded all its users adopt "robust" passwords.

The latest blog of LinkedIn revealed that the security team of the website is still looking into the issue of security breach in the website. However, they eagerly reminded their users to take the initiative in protecting their own accounts by simply using strong passwords and to change it frequently. Moreover, avoid using the same password in multiple sites.

LinkedIn also shared a few tips in creating a strong password for their accounts. It includes signing out when using a publicly shared network as some people may be able to access your accounts through a public network. Moreover, update one's antivirus constantly.

There is an increasing concern that users with exposed passwords may suffer the same fate with their other accounts if they use the same passwords. Thus, online users are advised to change their passwords in their other accounts such as Gmail, Paypal, Facebook, etc.
