The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are projected to pick either quarterbacks Jameis Winston or Marcus Mariota with the No. 1 pick in the 2015 draft in the National Football League, or NFL with the team ownership approving to draft either one of the top prospects in the annual rookie selection in April.

The 2015 NFL Draft decision will most likely define where the franchise will go after a disappointing season when they won just 2 of 16 games but Bucs co-chairman Joel Glazer was confident that they will bounce back in the upcoming season. Glazer also added that he is confident with his coaches and staff in making the right selection between Mariota and Winston.

“With anybody we're looking to draft, we do an extensive amount of work on their background, history and all that. We spent time with Jameis and Marcus and went into everything into their background,” Glazer said to the Tampa Bay Times on Tuesday at the NFL owners meeting in Phoenix, Arizona. “After everything we've done and where we're at right now, we're comfortable where Jameis is at, we're comfortable with Marcus or whoever else it could be.”

Glazer also added that they want to build a “sustainable, winning franchise” and that they’d be happy if the team can compete every year for a playoff spot. Both Mariota and Winston were already hosted by the Buccaneers as they continued their evaluation for their pick in the draft. Both is seen as NFL starting QB material but has different issues at this point of their careers. Winston is considered ready for pro football but has off-the-field issues while Mariota is seen as a long-term prospect but could take a few years before he’s a steady contributor for any NFL team.

Earlier this week, there were reports already that the Bucs are already completely sold on drafting Winston. The 2015 NFL Draft is scheduled from April 30 to May 2, 2015. The Buccaneers select first followed by the Tennessee Titans, which also ended last season with a 2-14 record. The Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland Raiders and Washington Redskins pick third to fifth.
