One Fatality in Severe Thunderstorms in Queensland

A yet-to-be-identified person died after a tree fell on their car around 3:00pm at Hillcrest, south of Brisbane. Meanwhile, in Toowoomba, four cars were washed away by flash flooding on the Darling Downs. It is believed the drivers managed to escape before the cars were carried away by the waters. Weather forecaster David Grant says southeast Queensland residents can expect further wild weather in the coming days.

6.8-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Bali, Indonesia

A powerful earthquake struck off Indonesia's popular resort island of Bali on Thursday, causing some damages, though no tsunami alerts were raised. The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake had a preliminary magnitude of 6.0 was centered 60 miles (100 kilometers) southwest of Bali, striking 36 miles beneath the ocean floor.

A toddler's arm was ripped off by a spinning washing machine when he opened it during its spin cycle. Lewis Lightfoot, 3, was rushed to the hospital by his mother, Rachel Roberts. But doctors were unable to save his arm due to severe damages caused by the accident.
