Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ release date, specifications, pricing and photos
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, the phablet edition of the Galaxy S6 Edge that was released this year, has been officially announced. The handset was announced alongside the Galaxy Note 5 that comes with an intuitive S-Pen stylus.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus also known as the Galaxy S6 Edge + is fitted with dual-edge curved AMOLED screen of 5.7 –inch. It is powered by Exynos 7420 chip that is supported by 4 GB of RAM.
It is available in 32 GB and 64 GB inbuilt storage options.The 16 MP rear camera supports Optical Image Stabilization. The front features a 5 MP selfie shooter. It will come loaded with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. Other features include Samsung Pay, fingerprint sensor and 3,000 mAh non-removable battery.
According to Phone Arena, all the major carriers of the U.S. such as AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint and U.S. Cellular will begin selling the Galaxy S6 Edge + from Aug. 21. Even other retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, Sam’s Club, Wal-Mart and more will be offering the S6 Edge + from the same date.
GSM Arena states that AT&T is offering the 32 GB and 64 GB handsets with off-contract price of $815 (AUD 1104) and $915 (AUD 1240), respectively. The Next 24 with 30 payments, Next 18 with 24 months and Next 12 with 20 payments will require users to make payments of $28 (AUD 38), $35 (AUD 47) and $42 (AUD 57), respectively.
Verizon Wireless is selling the Galaxy S6 Edge + with 24 monthly installments of $29 (AUD 39) or with an off-contract price of $696 (AUD 943) for the 32 GB variant. The 64 GB model will be costing $33 (AUD 48) per month for two years or $792 (AUD 1073) off-contract.
T-Mobile has not listed any information for the 64 GB Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. However, the 32 GB model costs $799 (AUD 1082) that can be paid with $32.49 (AUD 44) payments for 24 months.
On Sprint, the off-contract pricing for 32 GB and 64 GB models are $792 (AUD 1073) and $888 (AUD 1203), respectively. It is also selling the Galaxy S6 Edge + through lease, easy pay and two-year contract plans.
The Galaxy Note 5 will not be available in the Europe this year. However, the S6 Edge + will arrive in Europe in the next month. It will be priced around 800 euro (AUD 1208).
